Long View Study No. 12 (McMurdo)

July 30, 2010

Long View Study No. 12 is the second collage in my series on Antarctic research bases. Its subject is McMurdo Station, Antarctica’s largest human settlement and America’s first permanent scientific facility on the continent.

The artwork specifically addresses McMurdo’s role in high-altitude research ballooning. Read about the launches, the science, and the art in my latest Long View blog post hosted by the California Academy of Sciences.
